Android 7.1.1 Nougat Open Beta update for OnePlus 3 and 3T now available

We have some great news for those of you who use the OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T. Today, the Chinese manufacturer announced that the latest Open Beta update built on Android 7.1.1 Nougat is available for both devices.

The update weighs in at 1.48GB and brings a few interesting features to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Let’s start with the gallery improvements. According to the changelog, newly added media is now highlighted in the Photos section, image location is displayed on grid view, and media can be grouped by month and year.

Chrome OS is adding support for running Android 7.1.1 Nougat apps

Google is slowly allowing more Chromebooks, with Chrome OS installed, to run Android-based apps via the Google Play Store. This week, it was revealed that the current Chrome OS build from Google’s experimental Canary channel has added support for running Android apps based on the latest Nougat version, 7.1.1.

Xperia X Android 7.1.1 Nougat update rolls out for Experimental track

Sony has become the first third-party smartphone maker to release an over-the-air Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to one of its devices. The Concept team has released the build to owners of the Xperia X phone who have signed on to get updates on the Experimental track.

Android 7.1.1 update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge officially coming in January

Samsung has confirmed the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is due in January. The confirmation comes via the Beta notices in the Galaxy Beta Program, although there’s still an element of doubt to the deadline: “We will do our best to distribute the official version in January as soon as possible”.
