You can now cast HBO and CBS shows with your Google Home

Just last week, Google Home gained the ability to control YouTube TV with voice commands. Now Google is bringing another big improvement to Assistant on Google Home. You can now grab the Daydream View VR headset from the Google Store

Back when Google announced the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, it also took the wraps off some other goodies as well. The recently released Google Home Mini was one, but another was the updated Daydream View VR headset. We weren’t given a release date at the time of the announcement, but it looks like the headset has just gone live. 

You can now head over to the Google Store (link below) and pick up the headset in either Fog, Charcoal, or Coral. If you want yours sooner rather than later, the Charcoal and Coral headsets are expected to ship by October 22, while the Fog headset is back ordered by two to three weeks.

Update: Google will permanently disable the Home Mini’s top button so it doesn’t record everything

Update (10/12): Following the recent news regarding on bug on a pre-release Google Home Minis, Google has now confirmed that the offending functionality has been permanently disabled.

The Home Mini’s touch activation had prompted the error, which saw some units almost permanently recording conversations around them, but Google was quick to release a fix for it. Despite this, Google has now said it will permanently disable that part of the functionality, in a bid to allay further fears.
